1. How do I install the doorbell?
- Download the App: Search for "HelloDoorbell" in the app store, download, install, and register an account.
- Bind the Device: Press and hold the side button on the repeater for 3 seconds until the green light flashes. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi, open the app, scan the QR code on the back of the doorbell, and follow the prompts to bind the device.
- Install the Doorbell on the Wall: You can install it by drilling holes or using adhesive. We provide strong adhesive stickers, flat surface mounting plates, corner mounting plates, and downward viewing angle mounting plates. Choose the suitable method based on your wall surface.
2.Is the doorbell's recording function always on?
- The doorbell is in low-power sleep mode under normal conditions. The camera only starts recording when the radar function is activated.
3. Does the doorbell's radar system give false alarms?
- The doorbell uses a 24GHz millimeter-wave radar as a motion detection sensor, triggering only when a human body passes by, greatly reducing false alarms and ensuring no delay in triggering.
4. How is the doorbell's Wi-Fi performance?
- The doorbell has dual-band Wi-Fi, connecting to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, compatible with all routers. It uses Wi-Fi HaLow technology, which has lower power consumption, higher security, stronger penetration, and a longer range than traditional Wi-Fi. It maintains strong and stable signals even beyond 1 km.
5. How is the doorbell's camera performance?
- The doorbell features a 1080P HD wide-angle camera with infrared night vision. It has a 125-degree horizontal range, 145-degree diagonal range, and 70-degree vertical range.
6. How durable is the doorbell?
- The doorbell is IPX5 waterproof and can withstand high temperatures up to 70°C and low temperatures down to -40°C. The pull switch can endure a single pull force of 14kg and has passed 100,000 pull tests.
7. Can the doorbell be stolen?
- The doorbell has a built-in tamper alarm. Any attempt to disassemble the doorbell or remove the battery triggers the alarm. Only users authenticated through the app can disassemble it.
8. How long can the doorbell's videos be stored?
- The doorbell supports both local and Amazon cloud storage. Local storage keeps videos for 7 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Amazon cloud storage retains videos for 180 days before automatic deletion.
9. How can I avoid missing visitors when busy?
- If there is no response 30 seconds after a visitor rings the doorbell, an English voice prompt will ask the visitor to leave a message. The AR video message will be pushed to the user via the app.
10. What interesting features does the doorbell have?
- The HelloDoorbell app includes an AR SDK for interactive AR features, making communication between visitors and homeowners more fun and engaging. Users can also adjust the volume and customize ringtones through the app.
11. What is the product warranty period?
- The doorbell comes with a 7-day no-questions-asked return policy and a one-year free warranty service.
12. What accessories are included with the product?
- The package includes the doorbell, repeater, a pack of screws, a screwdriver, a power cord, adhesive stickers, flat surface mounting plates, corner mounting plates, and downward viewing angle mounting plates.
13. How long does it take to remove the doorbell for charging?
- The doorbell features a perovskite solar panel with high weak-light performance, capable of converting both sunlight and LED light into electrical energy. Along with the built-in 5800mAh high-capacity battery, it provides dual assurance for extended battery life. When fully charged , it can last for up to three months.
14. How long are the videos recorded by the doorbell?
- Videos triggered by the radar are 15 seconds long. There is no time limit for videos recorded through the mobile app.
15. Can the doorbell's radar motion detection feature be turned off? What are the benefits and drawbacks of turning it off?
- The radar feature can be manually turned off in the app. Turning off the radar feature effectively extends battery life but reduces the security level. Users should decide whether to turn it on or off based on their specific situation.
16. Where is the doorbell's charging port? Does it support fast charging? How long does it take to fully charge?
The charging port is located on the back of the doorbell, just below the power button. Please note that the doorbell does not support fast charging. To access the charging port, simply slide the back bracket downward to remove it. Once the bracket is removed, you will find the charging port where you can connect the provided USB cable.
To charge the doorbell, use the included USB cable and a 5V-2A charger. A full charge typically takes 6 to 10 hours. While charging, the indicator light will flash red, and once fully charged, it will turn solid red.
17. How does the solar feature work with the battery?
The built-in solar panel on Hello Doorbell helps only extend battery life by supplementing power from natural and ambient light. However, it’s not a substitute for the battery. Your doorbell still relies primarily on the internal battery. To ensure smooth operation, keep the battery regularly charged, while the solar panel provides helpful backup support.
18. Can I check how well the solar panel is charging my Hello Doorbell8
Yes! You can easily track your doorbell’s solar performance in real time. Just open the “Data Report” section in the Hello Doorbell app and view your Real Time Power Income. This gives you a clear view of how much solar energy is powering your device and helps you monitor its overall power usage.
19. Can I rely solely on the solar panel to power my Hello Doorbell?
No, the Hello Solar Panel is designed to extend battery life, not to serve as a standalone power source. While it can help maintain the battery, especially in areas with consistent sunlight. It cannot fully replace manual charging.
Several factors may limit charging efficiency, including:
-Frequent motion events or live video streaming
-Cloudy, rainy, or winter weather
-Shaded installation locations
We recommend monitoring battery levels regularly through the hello doorbell app and manually recharging your Hello Doorbell when needed, especially during periods of low sunlight.
20. What is the format of the SD card on the base station?
The signal station uses a micro SD card ( can store up to 128 GB)for storage.
21. Where is the sd card slot?
The micro SD slot is located on the side of the signal station.
22. How does the doorbell function without an SD card or cloud service?
Without an SD card or cloud service, the app will not save or store any video recordings or generate reports. However, you will still receive notifications, be able to answer the doorbell, and use other features as well.
23. Can I connect the camera to Google Home/Alexa?
Currently, our doorbell is not compatible with Google Home. However, we greatly appreciate your feedback, and we will certainly consider this feature in future upgrades.
24. Can I purchase extra chime stations?
Currently, it is not supported to connect extra chime stations with our doorbell. However, we truly value your feedback and will consider this feature for future upgrades to enhance our product offerings.
25. Why is my video doorbell failed to connect?
Common Causes and Solutions:
1. WiFi Network Issues
-Check WiFi credentials: Ensure you're entering the correct WiFi network name and password.
-Network mismatch: Verify that the doorbell is connecting to the same WiFi network your phone is using.
-Connection stability: Test the WiFi signal strength at the doorbell's location to ensure stable internet connectivity.
2. Signal Station Setup
Button activation: During the setup process, long press the side button on the signal station to enable pairing mode.
3. Account Conflicts
Previous connections: The doorbell may already be linked to another account.
If this is your device, you'll need to login and delete it from the original account or contact support for assistance in removing it.
26. How do I share Hello Doorbell access with family members?
Step 1: Ask your family member to download the Hello Doorbell app.
Step 2: Have them create a new Hello Doorbell account using their own phone number or email address.
Step 3: On the host account, tap the menu in the top-left corner and select “Invite Member.” Enter the family member’s registered phone number or switch to the email invitation option and enter their registered email address, then send the invitation.
Step 4: The family member will receive the invitation in their Hello Doorbell app.
Step 5: The family member must open the app and accept the invitation to gain shared access.
Note: Ensure the phone number or email entered for the invitation matches the family member’s registered account.
